Ulster County | Telling Our Stories: Why We Need NY Health

A coalition of Ulster County organizations is hosting a public meeting exploring why we need NY Health. Community leaders including Pat Strong, Rita Worthington, Claire O’Brien and Myrna Capaldi will discuss why our community needs NY Health. Everyone is invited to share stories about how the current health care system has impacted their health and care. The New York Health Act has been endorsed by the Kingston Common Council and by the town councils of Saugerties, New Paltz and Rosendale. It has passed the NYS Assembly four times. NYHA promises all New Yorkers much-needed relief from ever-increasing premiums, exorbitant deductibles and denial of care and treatment by administrators. With NY Health all New Yorkers will receive comprehensive health care, paid for by a progressive tax on income. Experts agree that most New Yorkers will pay less in tax than they pay now in premiums, deductibles and co-pays. Everyone is invited to attend and discuss this vital issue. Light refreshments will be served. Questions will be answered. To learn more about the New York Health Act, please visit www.nyhcampaign.org.
