The NY Health Act and Structural Racism (Part 2)

To win universal healthcare, we need to build a broad and diverse movement that includes the leadership of those most impacted by the inequities of the current system. Single payer healthcare will address some of the structural issues in the healthcare system that result in healthcare disparities for people of color. However, single payer alone will not end racism in the current healthcare system.

This training will be led by Roona Ray M.D. of Physicians for a National Health Program NY Metro Chapter. Roona will discuss interpersonal, institutional, and structural racism, discuss some of its manifestations in the current health system, and explore how to build the multi-racial movement we need to win healthcare for all and begin to dismantle racism in the health system and American society.
