Tell Our Elected Officials to Pass the New York Health Act!

Posted on Take Action by Drew Hornbein · January 22, 2018 4:54 PM

Healthcare is a top issue for New Yorkers. Why? Because too many of us -- whether we are insured or not -- simply can’t afford it. The pandemic laid bare how terrible it is for people to have their health insurance tied to their employment. Underfunded public and safety net hospitals are overstretched while they care for the sickest and most vulnerable patients.

We need the Senate and the Assembly to pass the New York Health Act. Despite thousands of calls, tweets and emails to the Senate Majority leader, the New York Health Act didn’t make it on the agenda for the final Senate Health Committee meeting of the 2020-2021 legislative year.

Send a message NOW to state legislators, Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie that we want a vote on the New York Health Act asap. We can't have racial and economic justice without single-payer healthcare!

Follow the simple steps below to call, email or tweet your elected officials. For the call feature, the system will call your number and automatically patch you through to your elected official's office.
