uninsured or underinsured, or are trapped in restrictive & confusing networks,

preventing us from accessing the care we need. Come learn about the New York

Health act, legislation which would create a single payer health insurance system in

New York State, and how it would benefit you & your community. We will have an

overview of the bill from Jaya Srikrishnan, a member of the Dutchess County

Progressive Action Alliance’s Healthcare action team, an opportunity to ask

questions, and time to discuss actions we can take to increase support for this

legislation.

New York State can lead the way with a just, equitable healthcare system that

guarantees healthcare for every New York resident as a fundamental human right

and not a privilege. The New York Health Act, universal healthcare legislation, has

passed three years in a row in the New York State Assembly as of 2017. If passed,

the NY Health Act will deliver affordable comprehensive health care to all New

Yorkers.
