Buffalo Base-Building and Health Care Story Canvassing Training

Winning universal healthcare will require a broad and diverse movement of New Yorkers coming together to demand healthcare as a human right. How do we do build a movement that can win?

Social change happens when the people who are most impacted by injustice overcome their isolation and divisions, come together and develop grassroots campaigns to build our collective power. Building a base of leaders is a key organizing practice that includes engaging people in real dialogue and inviting them to join our collective work.

To build a broad base of support for New York Health, we are developing teams of Campaign for New York Health volunteer organizers for door knocking and one-on-one canvassing. This training will prepare participants to have one-on-one conversations and collect health care stories in communities across New York.

In order to pass New York Health, healthcare justice activists need to engage and involve folks most impacted by the healthcare crisis in our work, folks who are likely not yet "activists." This training will go over the tools that can help us fight back, to win the right to health care -- and so much -- more by organizing in our communities. RSVP today
